Quvenzhané Wallis pronounced "Qua-ven-zhah-nay" is an African American child actress best known is Beasts of the Southern Wild as Hushpupy. She's the 1st person born in the 20th century to be nominated a best actress Oscar nomination. During auditions of her 1st role Beasts of the Southern Wild, she had to lie in order to get the role and she beated 4,000 girls.

The dirrector didn't know why to cast her for Annie. She has three siblings named Qunyquekya, Venjie Jr., and Vejon. Her parents are Venjie Sr. and Qulyndreia Wallis. She also reveals that zhané means fairy in Swahili language.
